About Chef Lorena Janes
As a lifelong "foodie", I have always had a passion
to create delicious meals for friends and family. My love of
cooking was nurtured at a young age by great family cooks.
Growing up in Los Angeles and tasting my way through my
travels inspired my appreciation for a variety of cuisines.
After earning an Electrical Engineering degree and working
at IBM, I decided to leave my corporate job to nurture my
growing family and be a stay-at-home mom. I loved gaining
a wealth of experience by creatively customizing delicious
meals to get good nutrients into my picky family. I briefly
went back to a full-time corporate IT career after my children
were grown and I quickly found out that I was too busy to
prepare the quality meals that I was used to. I understand
the desire of busy professionals to have a trustworthy chef
prepare their meals the way they want it and just have it
in the refrigerator ready to warm.
So I decided to start my own personal chef business and enjoy
the cooking that I love to do while helping busy people have
an enjoyable and nutritious dining experience in their own home.
I enjoyed studying culinary arts and nutrition at the Midwest
Culinary Institute in Cincinnati. I have had great instructors
and opportunities to work with some very talented chefs. I am
enjoying cooking for some very wonderful and appreciative
families and business clients; and have had the opportunity to
create and cook for people that have restrictive diets and for
their guests that have multiple restrictions.
My philosophy is to prepare food with the same care, quality,
attention to detail and pride that I would if you enjoyed a meal
in my home.
